Whether on a jobsite or in the office, safety is always a top priority, and our safety record speaks for itself: Our dedication to safety is clear.
Our investment into safety—training, equipment, processes—has earned us an EMR rating of 0.68 (1.00 is the national average). We have been able to maintain such an extremely low EMR for many years while still self-performing 40% of the total project scope, including the "dangerous" trades: structural steel fabrication, steel erection, and excavation.
Continuous Safety Training
From their first day with the company, all field employees receive training on safety procedures and policies, including emergency plans, first aid, crystalline silica protection, use of power tools, and PPE.
And our training does not end there. Our field employees are regularly trained in working from heights—aerial work platforms, fall protection, scaffolding, and ladders and stairways. In addition, employees are trained in confined spaces, powered industrial trucks, trenching and excavation, and steel erection.
Our jobsite Superintendents and Foremen are required to do a daily log, hold weekly safety meetings with Hogan employees, hold a weekly subcontractor safety meeting with subcontractors, and conduct a weekly site-safety inspection.
We want and work so each employee goes home to their family and friends each night.
